At what age did you have the sex talk with your children?

How old should your children be, and how explicit do you get? My 7 year old asked me a few weeks ago what sex was and if it was a bad word. They hear explanations of it at school and on the bus, and Lord only knows what they hear, but I still feel like my kids aren't old enough to hear what sex truly is all about.

ive never had a sex talk from my parents and im 14 years old! idk what age u should talk 2 them, but dont wait till 14, cuz if my mom and dad havent given it to me by now, i dont know when they will ! don't wait to long, cuz they could be hearing stuff that isnt true at school from friends and what not. so dont wait 2 long! they will go 2 friends and the internet for anwers, and i dont know if those are good sources!
